The past two weeks have been quite incredible!
My adventures began with talented photographer Joshua Lee Mallory, of Noise Soul Cinema, capturing the delectable menu items offered at our newest client Mi Dac Ky! The images taken are seriously mouth watering and sure to entice guests into trying Philadelphia’s newest entry to the hyper-competitive restaurant scene. While at Mi Dac Ky, Peter Breslow conceived a Peking Duck Banh Mi, which infiltrated the Philadelphia Foodie blogs like wild fire, spreading through Eater.com, Foobooz, Grubstreet, Zagat and CityPaper within minutes of it’s release.
The next day Peter and I attended an art retrospective where Peter Breslow Consulting, Inc. client, American Pop Artist Perry Milou, presented twenty years of his work through a 50-piece instillation! While admiring the eye-catching art, I had the pleasure to meet one of Femme & Fortune’s creators, Melissa Alam — a woman who is a true breath of fresh air. Next, we walked down the street to Philadelphia Style’s party held in swanky Roche Bobois. The Philly Style team really outdid themselves with a bustling soiree, smart cocktails and a dazzling venue replete with incredible modern furniture.
I believe the evening could be summed up with this simple exchange: I asked Peter if he was okay and he responded, “I’m sitting on a $8,000 sofa. How could I not be?”
The next day, I met Peter in New Jersey at Royal Cracovia – a gorgeous European Bistro planning to open in late July. We sat with owner Stanislaw “Stosh” Stachowski and General Manager Juan Canalas, and discussed their extensive menu and our forthcoming public relations campaign. After discussing their unique menu and brand personality, we toasted over Polish beer and sausage.
Later in the week, we attended Philadelphia Magazine’s Food & Wine Festival with Philly Food Dude Darren DeBlasi. With wine flowing and appetizing snacks being served by Circles Thai, SoWe Kitchen & Bar, Noir Bar & Restaurant, Chima Brazilian Steakhouse, Doc Magrogan’s, Harvest and Verdad Restaurant & Tequila Bar, the Philadelphia Magazine Food & Wine Festival was an unforgettable night!
The following week we hosted Indochino’s (the pioneer and global leader in online custom menswear), Private Press Experience at their newest Pop Up Shop at 1518 Walnut Street. The growing company originated in Vancouver, Canada and produces their gorgeous designs in Shanghai, China, and has recently grown to create beautifully customized apparel for thousands of men in 60 countries around the world! Peter and I were so excited to work with an internationally known startup – with the added bonus of hosting a swanky party for the city’s top fashion influencers!
The following day, Peter, our new intern Chris and I went to FOX, Philadelphia to meet the Chima Brazilian Steakhouse team for a segment on Good Day Philadelphia! The weather was beautiful and the food was delicious (as always), but there was one little problem. While Mike Jerrick interviewed Chima’s gaucho and chef, a union protester continually yelled at the top of his lungs about the injustices that he and his fellow union employees are experiencing. Let me say, I understand the First Amendment; however this protester was a nuisance and his screaming was hurting the union’s image more than helping it.
Overall, these past two weeks have been so fun and filled with meeting great people and experiencing new adventures. I’m sure the summer will bring new inspiration and new opportunities!
